I started Corvus Editing Services to help writers successfully navigate the academic publishing process and get their work into the world.
I know firsthand how stressful, frustrating, and isolating academic writing can be. But I also know how rewarding it is to finally get your research past the goal point. My aim is to provide professional editing help to reduce your stress and increase your satisfaction in your work.
I have been working with academic writers as a writing teacher, writing center tutor, and editor since 2004. I earned my PhD in 2015 and worked for nine years as an English professor, earning tenure in the process. During that time, I published a range of peer-reviewed articles and academic book chapters, so I am familiar with the ins and outs of the academic publishing process. I now work full-time as a freelance academic editor, supporting scholars at all levels as they work to graduate, get jobs, publish their research, and apply for funding.
When I’m not working, I enjoy spending time with my kids and taking walks with my dog, Roz. I am also a knitter, sewist, and quilter, so I spend a lot of time in my home studio working on my latest creative project. My next creative goal is to learn block printing. I love to read, especially narrative nonfiction and crime fiction. I listen to metal while I work. I am queer and neurodivergent, and I live with my partner and our two children in Cincinnati.

If you are looking for help with your writing, send me a message to let me know what you are working on and what you need help with. I am excited to help you achieve your goals!
